Google Top Black Talent (GTBT) is a unique talent attraction programme for black university students. It combines a day long event at Google’s London office with an 8 weeks mentoring programme for attending students. Held for the last 2 years, GTBT is open to all ACS members nationwide. GTBT attracts high calibre students studying both technical and non-technical degree courses at UK universities. Invited students explore the digital technology space through the eyes of the industries leading organisation. The day long event combines presentations, interactive workshops, lunch, a tour of Google’s office and networking with Google staff. Students selected for the 8 weeks mentoring programme get allocated a dedicated Googler (Google employee) to support them. This mentoring focuses on creating a tailored personal development plan, which aims to up skill the student by the end of the mentoring period. The next Google Top Black Talent programme will take place in September 2012.
